Jordan Mackay, Head of Property Management, is taking part in Shrek The Musical this month with Crawley Operatic Society. The club is the first amateur society in the UK to be given the limited rights to perform Shrek The Musical.

The cast was announced back in December and they’ve been meeting weekly since. Jordan will be playing both Queen Lillian and one of the fairy tale characters, Humpty Dumpty. Jordan said: “The whole society is just wonderful – everyone is so supportive and encourages you to be the best you can be.

I’ve learnt a lot about myself since joining and have had roles in Hairspray and The Wizard of Oz. I’ve been a member of the society for nearly five years and despite the distance and other commitments, I wouldn’t miss a show for the world.

I try to get involved with at least one performance a year and when Shrek was put on the table, I couldn’t resist auditioning. The team have been working really hard during rehearsals and we can’t wait to perform for everyone. It’s a great family-friendly show so get your tickets!”

If you’re looking for a fantastic time at the theatre, make sure you book your tickets at The Hawth, Crawley for shows from 15th – 18th May. Be quick though, they’re selling like hot cakes!
