Our Managing Director, Alex Mackay recently got the chance to sell a home he previously sold 45 years ago. Here he tells us about this fantastic property in Haywards Heath.
What seems like a lifetime ago, that was really 1973, I was offered my first job in Haywards Heath as a trainee negotiator with Durham Hatfield. Around two years later we were fortunate enough to be appointed as agents for a New Homes development, built by Harry Sired, situated at the top end of Blunts Wood Road, Haywards Heath. A very smart spot. The first house I sold there was to my bank manager, Mr Donald Cameron, and his family.
Now, some 45 years later, the family asked me to sell the house again as the Cameron family have all ‘left the nest’ and sadly the wonderful Mr Cameron Snr. passed away recently.
It has given me great pleasure to sell this house again and remind myself what a wonderful spot this home is in.
The property was snapped up in just a few days by a lovely family and I do hope they enjoy this wonderful home. Who knows, maybe Mishon Mackay will be asked to sell the property again in another 45 years, though I hope to be enjoying a quieter pace of life by then!
Although this property is now off the market, I’ve picked out some more fantastic family homes in the area so if you’re looking, do get in touch.
