Mishon Mackay and Brighton & Hove Soiree Rotary Club volunteers have raised £9,200 for the Rotary Club’s local charities.
The team at Mishon Mackay and 40 Brighton & Hove Soiree Rotary Club volunteers delivered more than 8,000 flyers around Hove and Portslade promoting the charity Christmas tree collection.
Residents were invited to book a slot online to have their Christmas tree collected for a minimum donation of £5.
More than 900 trees were collected on January 7 by Jackson Waste Disposal Company. They will be responsibly recycled to soil or compost, helping to improve the environment.
The money raised will be donated to the Rotary Club’s chosen charities, including the Martlets Hospice, Fareshare, Little Green Pig, Sussex Homeless Support, Pelican Parcels and other Rotary supported charities.
Alex Mackay, Managing Director at Mishon Mackay said: “We’re really pleased to support our friends at the Rotary Club and to help raise some much-appreciated money for local charities. What a great start to the year!”
Linda Hodgson, President of the Brighton & Hove Soiree Rotary Club added: “We are delighted to have raised more than £9,200 through our Christmas tree collection fund-raising this year and always have great fun working with the team at Mishon Mackay. It’s fantastic to have their support.”
