For Remembrance Sunday 2021, our Managing Director’s 11-year-old grandson, Grayson, has written a poem to commemorate all those who were involved, and to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
We may be a little biased, but please read Grayson’s beautifully written poem below:
“Today we remembered the lives lost at war
People like James Haydon, Corporal of the Royal Sussex regiment, died in battle to give us today
And it wasn’t just him who died, millions of others died
At the battle of Normandy, Somme and many more
If we forget them, we forget our privileges as humans
The fact that we’re here today means that they fought for us and died
My great great uncle was a gunner of a Hurricane, he was sniped whilst flying
He may have saved 2 or 20 lives, he still made a difference
The coats which were taken and will never be returned
The parents waiting for their children to return never will have that satisfaction.”
