Mishon Mackay is celebrating as Max Blencowe, the first apprentice hired by the agency, has successfully completed the apprenticeship scheme, and become a permanent member of the team.
We sat down with Max to discuss his time at Mishon Mackay so far, and what he thinks the property market will look like in the future.
Hi Max, what year did you start your apprenticeship?
I started my apprenticeship in 2021, working in the Hove office on Church Road
And what were you doing before you started your apprenticeship?
I was studying at BHASVIC Sixth Form College in Hove.
What was it that drew you towards wanting to work in property?
I have always had an interest in property and when this opportunity came around, it felt like the perfect fit. I love getting the chance to see unique, lovely properties and the satisfaction of matching a buyer to their dream home is my favourite part of the job.
Could you give us a top tip for someone looking to sell their home?
A top tip I would have for someone looking to sell their property would be to make sure you get the exterior of your property looking as good as possible. You want to make your home as appealing and inviting as possible, so it is vital that you do any work that you think will boost curb appeal before you get your property on the market.
And could you give us a top tip for someone looking to buy a home?
A top tip I would recommend for buyers would be to make sure you have everything in place before you start looking at properties. For example, if you have your solicitor in place before the offering process, then agents will often consider you as being a more serious, keen buyer.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into property?
For someone looking to get into the property industry I would simply recommend working hard and always be confident when talking to people. Also, to look for great training opportunities like the ones on offer at Mishon Mackay.
What do you think will be the next big thing in property?
I think having a big presence on social media is going to be a massive part of property in years to come as, especially for the younger generations, social media is a massive part of their lives. Sellers will want to see their properties published by agents who are active on social media, as it is an extra platform to be able to show off a property.
Alex Mackay, Co-Founder and Owner at Mishon Mackay, said: “I’d like to congratulate Max on not only completing his apprenticeship, but also on his recent promotion to Sales Negotiator. Max is an asset to our team, and I look forward to watching him go from strength to strength as his career progresses.
“At Mishon Mackay we take time to invest in the next generation, offering an extensive training programme to not only support those on their first steps in the world of property, but also to keep our business heading in the right direction with the best leadership and continuity.”
