Over a century later, Hurstpierpoint Brewing Company would open a new brewery in Western Road, which they would name Hurst Brewery in honour of the original Hurstpierpoint brewers who came before them.
Founded in 1849 by Canon Nathaniel Woodard, Hurstpierpoint College is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 4-18, and is located just north of the Hustpierpoint village proper. Known locally simply as "Hurst", the school is a familiar landmark of the village, with over a thousand students from across the world in attendance.
