Sussex activities for the Easter holidays

The sun is shining, the days are getting longer and spring is just around the corner. With the Easter holidays on the way, we’ve been looking at the fantastic family activities that Sussex has to offer.

Follow the Easter bunny

It wouldn’t be Easter without a visit from the most famous bunny in Britain! Visit some of his favourite countryside spots and spend a day solving clues and hunting for treasure. Here’s five tried and tested Easter Bunny hotspots for a day of egg hunting fun!

Spend a day with the animals

Make some new animal friends this spring! Meet some exotic animals at the ever-popular Drusillas, or get up close and personal with the natural world of Sussex at the Arundel Wetland Centre.

Pack a picnic

If the springtime weather arrives then that can only mean one thing – it’s picnic time! With the South Downs close by, as well as a whole county of countryside to enjoy, there are plenty of picnic-friendly spots that everyone will love in the sunshine. Discover your new favourite lunch spot on the stunning South Downs or pack some refreshments and explore a National Trust walking trail.

Take a step back in time

If there’s one thing Sussex has in abundance, it’s period properties and plenty of history. Watch history come to life at Arundel Castle and meet some real-life knights in shining armour. For a calmer day out, there’s always something to discover at the Weald and Downland Living Museum. With plenty of activities and stunning scenery, this is a day out for everyone to enjoy!

Enjoy a day by the seaside

We’re lucky enough to have miles and miles of coastline to explore, and nothing signals the start of sunnier weather more than a trip to the seaside. Enjoy some fun and games at Brighton Pier or pack a bucket and spade and build your castle on the sandy West Wittering beach.

Have an adventure

There are plenty of adventures to be had in Sussex! Zip around in a go kart, swing through the treetops or get active whatever the weather and satisfy your adventurous spirit. Those of you who are looking for adventure without the adrenaline rush are sure to enjoy a trip along the Bluebell Railway, through 11 miles of beautiful Sussex countryside.
