The long bank holiday is approaching, and with the weather set to soar, it’s the perfect time to get your DIY on. Here’s some tips to get your outdoor space ready for entertaining in – or for an Easter egg hunt!

1. Do the basics

Mow the grass, cut back any overgrowing trees and plants, pull any weeds and sweep up the rogue dirt.

Mallory Road, Hove

If you’re looking for something that will really last, laying artificial grass could be a great alternative. It looks like the real deal but is much more manageable to maintain – all year round!

Abinger Road, Portslade

2. Wash the patio

A quick sweep and jet wash of the patio will make a huge difference. Once it’s sparkling clean, it’ll make the garden feel brighter.

Lincoln Avenue, Peacehaven

3. Touch up any paintwork

It might be a bit of a bore and take longer than the other jobs, but it’ll make a world of difference! Paint any brickwork or fences that might’ve suffered over the winter.

Borough Street, Brighton

4. Start planting!

Whether that’s shrubs, flowers or herbs – plants will help to landscape your garden.

Kenton Road, Hove
